The staff at Sacramento IV Therapy Clinic, Sacramento Naturopathic Medical Center seeks to build lasting relationships with every person who walks in the door, attempting to always “walk a mile or more in their shoes,” and provide hope and inspiration along the journey to health transformation. Their mission is to help each patient become their healthiest self by treating the whole person—emotionally, psychologically, spiritually, physically and mentally, rather than merely treating symptoms.
Shama Regmi, N.D. of Sacramento Naturopathic Medical Center received her B.S. in Environmental Sciences and Agronomy from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and pursued her Doctorate from National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon.
Born in the foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal, Dr. Regmi’s interest in health and serving her community began at the age of 12 when she was asked to interview people from nearby villages about healthcare as part of her school project. Upon learning of socioeconomic challenges, limited access to medical services, poor sanitation, and much needed social services, she realized that everyone has a right to good health and healthcare services. Forever striving to bridge the gap of healthcare accessibility, Dr. Regmi has volunteered in numerous hospitals, food banks, and worked as a medical interpreter serving refugee communities of Nepal, India, and Burma while attending medical school.

The human body needs vitamin B-12 to make red blood cells, nerves, DNA, and carry out other functions. This makes it good for brain health, immune support, nerve health, and energy. The average adult should get 2.4 micrograms a day. Like most vitamins, B-12 can’t be made by the body. Instead, it must be received in the form of food or supplements.
- Vitamin B6
B6 supports neurotransmitter synthesis, is anti-inflammatory, and is antagonized by birth control pills. It is useful for mood disorders such as depression, as well as dementia, PMS, skin disorders and neuropathy.
- Vitamin B5
B5 supports good adrenal health, production of energy from foods, and is useful for people with arthritis, allergies, acne and other skin problems; it is also useful for sexual endurance.
- B-100 Complex
B Vitamins serve many purposes in our bodies including energy production (reduces fatigue) and is especially important if there is malabsorption or colitis. B-Complex blends very well and synergizes with B12 injections.
- Folic Acid
Dr. Ethelbah uses methylfolate which is the biologically active form. Some people are unable to convert folic acid into its active form in the body. Folic acid can prevent or treat a variety of conditions like cardiovascular health, autism, depression, neurological symptoms such as restless leg and migraines, and decreases risk of certain birth defects. Certain medications like oral contraceptives, methotrexate, fluoxetine, and certain anticonvulsants interfere with the absorption leading to a folate deficiency.
- MIC – Methionine and Choline
These amino acids support brain function and the synthesis of neurotransmitters, amino acids and glutathione (the body’s most detoxifying molecule), as well as proper hormone metabolism. This blend is effective for the treatment of many mood disorders and enhances the body’s ability to detoxify, particularly preventing excess fat build up in the liver, leading to lower cholesterol levels.
- Vitamin D-3
Helps maintain good health and has been shown to be beneficial in helping to: support bone health, prevent fractures, help with back pain, regulate hormones and alleviate some symptoms of depression. It also contains anti-cancer benefits, supporting immune system issues, and lowering the risk of colon, breast, and prostate cancer. Vitamin D-3 injections are better absorbed by the body since they go directly into the blood stream.
